Listening - Do's and don'ts

What to do

In this part of the Listening exam, you listen to short extracts and choose between three images.

You will hear seven short dialogues, each has a question and three pictures. Listen to the audio, then choose the picture which best answers the question that you have been asked.

You hear each conversation twice.

The extracts are very short so don’t worry if you can’t answer first time. Everything is played twice.

Use the pictures to help you. You can guess a lot about what you are going to hear by looking at them.

How to do the task

First of all, read the question and look at the three pictures. By doing this, you will know what you are listening out for and you will know your three possible answers. During the first listening, you should listen for general understanding and choose the best option. When you listen for the second time, check that your answer is correct.
